I, Nancy Schneider, retired in 2015 as a Regional Executive Director of Human Services with the Government of Alberta, and moved back home to St. Walburg, where my husband and I plan to spend our retirement years. I am a published author and an advocate of life-long learning. I hold a Masters Degree of Leadership and Training from Royal Roads University, a Bachelors Degree in Administration and a Certificate of Health Care Administration. Most recently, I am a Co-Chair of a national Patient Advisory Team for Cancer Research and volunteer ten hours a month in this role. In this, my next endeavor I am ready, willing and able to step into the rewarding role of Town Councillor for St. Walburg.
Having spent most of my 30-year career in Leadership and Administrative roles, I feel well qualified to understand day to day municipal operations and responsibilities of sound fiscal management. Community engagement and capacity building are important areas and I realize the value of listening with an open mind to the concerns and opinions of all community members. I believe that positive working relations and good communication skills are essential to the success of any role, and I look forward to representing and promoting St. Walburg in all Council and Committee work.
Happy to return home to St. Walburg, my husband Bob and I enjoy golf, hiking, bike riding and small town living. My hope is to represent the people of St. Walburg as a Town Councillor and to be a clear voice for a strong and prosperous future for St. Walburg.
